In the footsteps of Günter Grass
It all started here - on October 16, 1927, the future Nobel Prize Laureate for Literature, Günter Grass, was born. At that time, the Clinical Hospital was commonly referred to as "stork's nest" because of its characteristic turret. Currently, the building is two storeys lower, but still has something to do with the storks - new generations of Gdańsk residents are born here.
This maternity clinic was built between 1910 and 1912, its present name is the Obstetrics Clinic of the Medical University of Gdańsk.
