11th August Lech Walesa Marathon

This year, the marathon competition is also the Polish Championships in long-distance roller skating, i.e. speed roller skating.

Similarly to last year, we are also hosting the “Fitness” race, at a distance of 10.7 km, for those who do not feel they are ready for the marathon and half-marathon, but want to experience the excitement of the competition.
We have also prepared short-distance competitions for the youngest participants, depending on their age. Those who train in student sport clubs can compete at longer distances. 

This year, world-famous roller skating stars will come to Gdansk. Ewen Fernandez from the Rollerblade Team World Speed confirmed his arrival and he will also run a workshop on speed roller skating techniques. Powerslide Poland invited Bart Swings - the leader of the Powerslide Matter Speed Team - currently the fastest sprinter in the world. It is going to be an interesting marathon race. 

We also have a real treat for fans of urban skating. Danny Aldridge - a world-famous urban skater - was invited by Rollerblade Poland and will come to Gdansk to run a workshop on freeskate/urban skating and compete at the fitness distance. 

The agenda also includes the Roll4all roller skating academy, skate park, freestyle workshops, Roller Derby shows and roller skating trade show featuring the biggest and most famous distributors of roller skating ice skating equipment in Poland: Zico Racing, Powerslide, Rollerblade, Bladeville, Plich Wyscigi, and manufacturers of sports outfits: Martombike and IDLG. During the marathon, there will be an opportunity to register in the database of potential marrow donors of the DKMS foundation. 

The competition is organised by the Twister Tricity Association of Physical Culture. It is co-organised by the Polish Association of Roller Skating Sports.

9:00 - 9:30 - warm-up for children with members of the Powerslide Team Poland

12:00 - 1:00 pm - Workshop on speed skating with Ewen Fernandez
