As close to the sea as it gets! Five hotels next to the beach
All tourists agree that one of Gdansk’s greatest advantages is its location on the coast of the Baltic. It is no wonder that some guests want to spend their nights as close to the beach as possible. Fortunately enough, there are hotels aplenty which make that possible. Below you will find five places which are only a few minutes or even seconds away from the beach!
The list does not only contain hotels located in Gdansk, but those are the ones we will start with.
Novotel Marina – close not only to the beach!
One of the larger and more distinct-looking buildings, Novotel Marina belongs to the popular Accor chain and is located right next to Gdansk’s border with Sopot (20 Jelitkowska Street). The hotel has 175 3-star rooms. Also, it also offers a car park, a fitness club, a bar, a great restaurant and the largest advantage from the point of view of this ranking: it is less than 100 metres away from the beach!
What is more, it is also close to Ergo Arena and the Sopot Pier, which are both only approx. 20-25 minutes away by foot. The hotel also offers great conference equipment. Its nine meeting rooms can house up to 260 guests, making it one of the top conference buildings in our city.

Posejdon – true to its name
Driving from Novotel Marina towards Jelitkowo and Przymorze, you will see another Accor hotel – Posejdon. The building is situated at 30 Kapliczna Street. The hotel bears the name of the god of the sea, and not without good reason – it is only 3-4 minutes away by foot from the beach. In addition, the building itself is quite large – it has 151 rooms and, similarly to its slightly larger sister, Novotel Marina, it offers pleasant, 3-star quality accommodation. In addition to the usual amenities, such as a bar, restaurant, Wi-Fi and parking, the building boasts another advantage – a large, modern spa zone, which was rebuilt several years ago to meet the exacting requirements of the guests. Its centrepiece is a large, heated, internal swimming pool.
Another advantage is the hotel’s conference equipment – its seven meeting rooms which can house up to 200 people, and a banquet hall make it a great choice for all kinds of business events.

Golden Tulip – right next to the beach
Renting an apartment in the Golden Tulip is another comfortable way of spending time at the seaside. We mean that quite literally, as the hotel is located just 150 metres away from the beach, at 160 Piastowska Street. It differs from the other hotels presented here in that Golden Tulip Gdansk Residence, in addition to its comfortable 28 standard rooms, offers 116 spacious, two-room studios and 51 large, two-storey apartments, and every room comes with a fully-equipped open kitchen.
The building also offers a large Spa & Wellness zone with a swimming pool, children’s pool, jacuzzi, dry and steam sauna, in addition to a wide range of treatments and massages. Its guests love its large car park and the delicious meals served in the hotel restaurant. In other words, the Golden Tulip Gdansk Residence is a modern building offering high-quality accommodation. Near the aforementioned beach, you will also find the beautiful R. Reagan Park.
Also, the building has its own, modern conference zone.

Zhong Hua – Far Eastern vibes
When it comes to Zhong Hua, which is a 3-star, oriental-style hotel, the phrase “on the beach” can be treated literally. Yup – the building is located on the beach! On the one side, you have the boardwalk and Sopot, on the other – the beach. What is more, the building is located only 150 metres away from the Sopot Pier and 200 metres from the famous “Monciak” boardwalk. The exotic interiors of rooms and apartments, furnished in accordance with the ancient principles of feng-shui, offer peace, comfort and the perfect conditions for resting for all guests. The hotel has ten apartments and 37 double rooms – including two exquisite “Mandarin” apartments with a view on the Bay of Gdansk.
Zhong Hua also has a conference room which can house up to 70 guests, a car park for up to 15 cars and an excellent restaurant serving international cuisine.
Sheraton Sopot Hotel
Time for dessert – here is yet another building in Sopot, the magnificent, 5-star Sheraton hotel. It is located right next to the beach (15 seconds by foot), next to the longest wooden pier in Europe. Its closeness to the Baltic, the beach and the famous Monte Cassino boardwalk make Sheraton a great place to enjoy some rest, in addition to being a perfect conference venue with an atmosphere conducive to business. Apart from its 189 luxurious rooms, the hotel offers extensive conference support. More than 4000 m² of conference and banquet space, including the Baltic Panorama ballroom (more than 260 m²), the Marco Polo ballroom (360 m²) and a multimedia lecture hall (560 m²), which makes it possible to organise spectacular events and large conferences.
This was our subjective choice of five hotels, but do not forget that these are not all hotels to be found in our city which allow you to access the beach while still in your slippers.
