Fish soup is a specialty of seaside towns. If someone wants to try their hand at preparing this delicious dish, we present a recipe according to the chef of the Mercure Gdańsk Posejdon.


  • Peeled onion 60 g
  • Celery 60 g
  • Fennel 100 g
  • Peeled garlic 2 g
  • Chilli pepper 1 g
  • Olive oil 40 g
  • Dry white wine 250 ml
  • Pelati tomatoes 200 g
  • Vegetable/fish stock 500 g
  • Norwegian salmon fillet 200 g
  • Cod fillet 300 g
  • Large shrimp 250 l
  • Lemon juice 50 ml
  • Ground sweet paprika 1 g
  • Bay leaves for the stock 1 g
  • Thyme for the stock 1 g
  • Parsley leaves


Finely chop the onion, celery, fennel, garlic and chilli. Heat some oil in a large pan, add the onion, celery, dill, garlic and chilli, fry over a low heat until soft. Add the wine, tomatoes, stock and bring to the boil. Cover with a lid and simmer over a low heat for 30 minutes.
Chop the salmon and cod into thick slices and add to the soup. Add shrimp, cover and cook over a low heat for 10 minutes or until the fish and shrimp are cooked.
Add salt, pepper and lemon juice to taste.
Serve with a dash of olive oil and sprinkle with parsley leaves.
