Chef at Hotelu Mercure Gdańsk Stare MiastoŁukasz Miecznikowski, presents recipe for beef cheeks with green lentil, baked pumpkin and gravy.


  • Beef cheeks – 1 kg
  • Carrot
  • Celery – ½
  • Garlic – 2 cloves
  • Bay leafs
  • Tomato extract – 2 spoons
  • Butter – 0,1 kg
  • Green lentil
  • Pumpkin


  • Heat the oven to 220 `C
  • Cut the pumpkin into big cubes and leave for now.
  • Cut the vegetables, fry in oil and put in a pot. Beef cheeks should be fried in the same oil and put with the vegetables.
  • Pour water into the pot and add bay leafs and garlic. Cook for about 2 hours. Then take some water from the pot and use it to cook lentil. Put the pumpkin in the oven and bake till soft. Take the cheeks and reduce fluid till sauce texture is achieved. Add seasoning. Serve with green lentil and baked pumpkin.
