Cwiebak, a traditional Gdansk bread roll
A bit weird name, we admit, but cwiebak is simply a delicious, florid, Gdansk’s bun. Simple, quick and exquisite in taste. What more can you expect? Check out the recipe by Merkato Restaurant of Hilton hotel.
- 500 ml milk
- 100 g butter
- 180 g sugar
- 1/4 tspn salt
- 1 egg
- 70 g yeast
- 100 g dried cranberries
Pour the sugar over the yeast, add the milk when the yeast begins to activate.
Combine all of the other dry ingredients, add them to the mix and knead.
Finally, add the melted butter and soaked cranberries. Knead the dough and leave to rise.
Bake at 180 degrees.
- 1 kg plums
- 100 g sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
Melt the sugar together with the cinnamon to make caramel, add fresh plums and cook.
