Sea Gull Backwater Reserve

The Sea Gull Backwater Reserve is the only place where Baltic seals live in wild. You can also find here more than 120 species of birds and nearly 300 species of plants.

Birds' Paradise Reserve

Birds' Paradise is mainly famous for its captivating views of the estuary of the Smiala Wisla River to the sea and its beautiful nature. During spring and autumn migrations, flocks of birds come here to rest on the two coastal lakes.

Sobieszewo beach

If you are looking for a place to relax in peace and quiet, then Sobieszewo beach is the right choice. The island is the greenest and “wildest” part of Gdansk. The wide, sandy and often empty beaches allow you to feel the unique atmosphere of the seaside. There are also numerous trails, ideal for a walk among the trees. You can also find here the Birds' Paradise and Sea Gull Backwater nature reserves, which are home to more than 200 species of birds, as well as seals.

Kazimierz Reservoir

The water tower of Kazimierz Reservoir, which is designed to regulate the pressure in the water supply system, is also the highest point on the island. At the top of the reservoir is an observation deck, which offers a magnificent panorama of the Bay of Gdansk and the Sobieszewo Island.

The Swibno-Mikoszewo ferry

The ferry was built in 2006. It can accommodate 21 cars and 100 passengers on board and has a carrying capacity of 90 tonnes. Crossing to the other side of the Vistula River takes about 5 minutes. By taking the ferry, you can save 23 kilometres on the Gdansk-Krynica Morska route.

Seals on the Sobieszewo Island

The Sea Gull Backwater Reserve is one of the favourite habitats of wild seals, which can be spotted all year round from a special tower or by taking an organised cruise. At times, beach tourists can also spot seals on the beach on Sobieszewo Island next to entrance number 1.

Amber hunting

Amber hunting is a fun activity for children and adults alike. There is plenty of it on the beaches of the Sobieszewska Island (especially around the Vistula estuary). Who knows... Maybe you will find a nice specimen?
