History of the building dates back to the end of the 16th century, when is was designed style to be the seat of the Old Town authorities. Throughout centuries it was the centre of contemporary political, economic, scientific and social life of this part of the city.

Throughout centuries it was the centre of contemporary political, economic, scientific and social life of this part of the city. It was here that elites debated about municipal matter, celebrated official ceremonies and organised balls and banquets. Thanks to its specific shape, the Old Town hall is an unique element of the architecture of Gdańsk Main Town. The Old Town Hall off ers a conference room up to 200 people.
