After numerous restaurants from Gdańsk and the Pomeranian region were awarded stars and recommendations by the famous Michelin Guide in June 2024, the city is taking another step toward promoting and developing its local cuisine and restaurants.
The decision to award Gdańsk the title of European Capital of Gastronomic Culture 2025 is the culmination of many years of the city’s efforts to promote gastronomy based on local products, traditions, and sustainable development. The title gives Gdańsk the opportunity to further develop culinary tourism and to show the world how it draws from its heritage. In 2025, Gdańsk will host numerous culinary events, festivals, workshops, and exhibitions that will attract tourists and food enthusiasts from around the globe.
