The Hanseatic League experienced its greatest flourishing in the first half of the 15th century. Its activities covered approximately 200 cities located in the German, Flanders, English, Scandinavian and Polish cities. Some of them were located at considerable distances from the sea (e.g. Torun, Wroclaw and Kraków). 

The Hanseatic League's joint economic activities brought many elements of everyday life closer together. Cities have become similar to each other to some extent.
